CDL Driver

Role Scope:

This position is responsible for delivering product to our retail customers. This includes safe transportation, delivery, and merchandising of product along with the handling of paperwork with a “customer first” attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory
  • Ensure orders are downloaded on the handheld before leaving the warehouse.
  • Check for special instructions (repack, Salesmen’s notes for any changes, etc.).
  • Add any changes to the order in the handheld.
  • Check truck inventory before leaving the warehouse.
  • Perform the end of day check, bring remaining inventory in off truck.
  • Verify the end inventory is correct and sign the sheet.
  1. Delivery
  • Deliver to accounts in a timely manner.
  • Verify the order is correct with the manager.
    • If the order has an error, contact the Salesman.
    • Contact Director, Operations and Sr. Manager, Warehouse Operations with any discrepancies.
    • Adjust the invoice as needed.
    • Print invoice. Customer sign invoice.
  • Merchandise:
    • Make note of and contact the Salesman about:
      • Out-of-Stock items.
      • Close-dated items.
      • Damaged product.
    • Remove all outdated and/or damaged product to the back room as instructed by Salesman.
    • Rotate and stock the back room.
    • Repair all damaged product (if possible).
    • Pick up any empties.
    • Clean the work area, discard boxes, plastic, etc.
  • Collect payment for the order and note the route number on the back of the check.
  • Thank customer.
  1. Communication
  • Relay any pricing issues and/or discrepancies to Director, Information Systems, and sales staff.
  • Communicate with our Mechanic on any truck issues and substitutions.
  • Communicate with Admin as needed.
  • Communicate any issues evolving throughout the day to Director, Delivery & Service Operations.
  • Communicate all on-the-job injuries to Director, Operations, Sr. Vice President & CFO and/or VP of Administration & Controller.
  1. General Driver Duties
  • Perform the pre-trip inspection before leaving the warehouse.
  • Wear the proper uniform.
  • Practice all safety precautions.
  • Turn in all the invoices and money, and explain any issues to the Admin staff.
  • Check all equipment daily.
  • Wash the trucks (weekly or as needed), including maintaining cab and bay cleanliness.
  • Replace all returned product back into inventory.
  • Correctly fill out all forms and tag the Close-to-Code pallets.
  • Help other drivers as time allows
  1. All Other Duties as Assigned

Decatur Sales

Role Scope:

The Account Manager, Hybrid position is a critical connection between Skeff Distributing sales personnel and our valued customers. This position is vital to utilizing the technology available via M360, VIP KARMA, GoSpotCheck & IRIS and assisting in the sell in of new items/trends that will be crucial to the long-term success of these customers.  It will also ensure that our sales personnel are focusing on those objectives outlined each month to drive success for retail customers and Skeff Distributing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Managing Selling using Mobility 360 and KARMA Sales Tools

  •  Inventory
  • Monthly Objectives as established by AB, Sales Managers, SEC and Team Leads.
  • Sell in new brands and packages to achieve distribution objectives.
  • Order inventory correctly to eliminate Out-of-Stocks.
  • Submit work orders through VIP POS for:
    • Temporary POCM.
  • Ensure KARMA surveys for Samplings and Friday Market Plans are completed.
  • Utilize Go Spot Check surveys (EDGE, TAPS, Displays and IRIS) to ensure execution at retail.
  1. Execution of National and Regional A-B Blueprint
  • By channel and by month in accordance with A-B guidelines.
  • Review LOL results following each market visit.
  1. Account Planning
  • Identify opportunities in markets/accounts (displays, placements, POCM, etc.).
    • Competitive activity (pricing, brand positioning, new products, taps, etc.).
    • Create a plan to obtain monthly objectives in each account each week.
    • Account plan by segment (KPIs, POD, KAM/National Accounts, POCM).
    • Measure objectives completed using M360 and KARMA.
    • Ensure new and existing accounts are opened, maintained, and classified correctly (BUD classification, on or off-premise, non-buys, account contacts, etc.).
  • Execution of A-B market plans and route level objectives.
  • Ensure that the correct SKUs are available in each account whether single brand sell in or multiple package distribution behind major brands are required.
  • Knowledge of wholesaler SKUs in inventory.
  • Knowledge of discount scenarios and quantity discounts by brands and packages.
  1. Servicing Retail Accounts
  • Manage all activities in a retail account in accordance with IL law.
  • Check, stock and rotate coolers, shelves, displays, and back stock for all Skeff Distributing products (beer and NA) when needed to complete the order process or servicing the account.
  • Customer 1st in all dealings.
  • Executes and follows the Sales Process to meet or exceed ABI Standards.
  • Maintain call frequency as outlined in exhibit 9 of the equity agreement.
  • Build and leverage relationships.
  • Night Calls, promotions and samplings executed on and off premise.
  • Special Event Management.
  • Managing POCM in an account in accordance with IL law (temporary and permanent).
  • Updating POCM placements monthly in accordance with AB guidelines
  1. Communication
  • Communicate all pertinent account information with all departments (Admin, Delivery, Sales, Warehouse, Merchandisers, and Sign Shop) and retailers:
  • Out-of-Code,
  • Out-of-Stock,
  • Close-to-Code,
  • Displays,
  • Sampling,
  • special event equipment and delivery
  • account setup and changes,
  • inventory changes,
  • package placement location,
  • Communicate all on-premise activations and special event activity info (location, specials/brands, time, date, etc.) to Communications Manager to blog/post to social media sites.
  1. Product Knowledge and Corporate Training
  • Complete BREW U/Skeff U required training and certification annually.
  • Continuous training through other resources if necessary.
  • Understand price markups/margins for PTC and PTR.
  • Knowledge of all supplier code date systems (Best by vs. Julian date).
